As of last week, the new NOS Live app is available. In addition to Samsung and LG devices, users can now find the app on Android TV and the set-top boxes from KPN and Ziggo. This allows 80% of Dutch households to access streams more easily, just in time for the busy summer sports season.

NOS streams more than 500 broadcasts annually. Through its new app, viewers can more easily replay highlights or other significant moments from live broadcasts. A symbol in the livestream indicates when such a moment occurred. By clicking on it, viewers are taken directly to the exciting moment and can then continue watching live.

In addition to livestreams, the updated NOS Live app offers a clear program overview and a handy information button. This feature allows viewers to see when certain matches start and if any Dutch athletes are competing.

Focus on Live Content

With its focus on livestreams and recent broadcasts, NOS reaches a new market beyond its linear television offering, particularly targeting younger viewers. The introduction of the app for KPN and Ziggo customers further expands this reach. This comes at a perfect time, as viewers can enjoy events like the Tour de France, the European Football Championship, the Olympic Games, and Wimbledon this summer.

Since March 2023, the NOS Live app has been available on Samsung (Tizen) and LG (WebOS) smart TVs. Thanks to our partner THEO and their video player THEOplayer, videos are played quickly and smoothly in high quality, even for live broadcasts, on all platforms. We worked closely with NOS on the design and development of the front end.
